Kinetic 2024.1.8 - Costing WorkBench is not rolling up multilevel method labor costs

We upgraded from a 2022 version about 2 weeks ago and today I’m noticing that (somewhat randomly) when I Standard cost roll a group of parts, some end up with no labor cost even though there is the basis for labor.

Has anyone encountered that before?

Not sure I am understanding the question. I have never seen Costing Workbench roll up Labor. The Labor at lower levels get rolled into the Mtl Cost at the next Level.

For example, from bottom to top.

Mfg part Level2 has Mtl cost $1, Labor Cost $2

Mfg part at Level 1 will have Mtl Cost of $3

If there is no “basis for labor” at the top level part, There will not be any Labor on the top level part.

I have also seen issues when Component parts are Inactive.

There is a setting in company config to maintain cost elements. I would double-check to make sure that box is checked.
I have not heard of this situation. I come across a lot of different versions of Epicor/Kinetic. What specific version are you running?

Cost workbench cost rolls have an option to on the Rollup action screen to ‘Consider Paull As Assembly Settings’.

Left checked (on every version from 7 through Kinetic 2022), it indeed will carry lower level labor costs to the next BOM level as a material cost in addition to pure material costs.

We want to see the lower level labor accumulate through every MOM level & post as such and it has been working fine by unchecking that option until we went to 2024.1.8 a couple of weeks ago.

What is odd is that it is inconsistent. I did pretest and all appeared well.

Real world activity levels have now exposed that it inconsistently rolls up costs for some parts with multi-level MOM structures correctly - while others within the same cost group roll up and post zero labor cost (and it appears the rolled material costs are off as well.)

2024.1.8 and I get the same inconsistent (and outright errant) behavior using the browser based interface or the application interface.

I will definitely check the company and plant config options to be sure they are set appropriately. I do recall that ‘maintain cost elements’ from years ago on E10 but my memory is that it was related to FIFO cost methods only.

Thanks!
