We are relatively new to Kinetic and have been rolling our standard costs for 5 years in Epicor. We have found that when we roll our standard costs in Kinetic the system zeros out the standard material cost for purchased parts. We have gone screen by screen to make sure we are rolling our costs the same as the other version but we still get this problem. Has anyone else ran into this and have you found what is causing this?
@dr_dan ?
Do they have a revision on them?
I havenât experienced this issue but I am aware that there is logic (maybe even goofy logic) built into the Cost Rollup tool that handles purchased parts that have methods structured under them. Iâd have to dig up which settings manipulate this but I agree thatâs a good place to start looking. As far as a change, I donât know of any logic changes through the years. We didnât start rolling our stuff regularly until after we went to Kinetic.
This was a post on a thread of mine recently that speaks to the relationship with purchased parts that have methods. He said that if the âView as Assemblyâ checkbox is checked for a purchased part on a method, it is rolling incorrectly. That said, I would not understand why it would 0 out the cost if it was rolling those parts. But thought it might be a thread to pull. Maybe there was an update to the Costing Workbench Roll logic in a recent update like 2025.1.2âŚ
