Kinetic Dashboard - Query Running Message

Hi,

I have just raised an idea on Epicare ( KIN-I-5734), re the Kinetic dashboards displaying a useful message such as ‘Query Running’ when the ExecuteBAQ call has a status of pending

Whilst the call has this status, the message on the dashboard is ‘No Records Available’.

The idea is to have this changed to something like ‘Query is Running’ until the data is returned.

My concern is that a user will either close down the dashboard thinking there is no data or try and rerun the dashboard causing a lot of unnecessary call to the database.

I have classified the idea under ‘Usability’

Please give this idea a vote, if you think it would be of use.

There’s generally a loading bar (albeit small) at the very top when a query is still running. Are you not seeing that?

No nothing.

I see the timer on other forms, but not on dashboards.

There is the small blue bar at the top which I think you could technically call a’ loading bar’, but I’m pretty certain most users won’t interpret it as that.

You could always change it to Mr. Bean with a StyleBot extension.

The idea is to have this changed to something like ‘Query is Running’ until the data is returned.

Something more generic like, “Retrieving Records” would cover loading non-BAQ grids too.

Ha does the loading bar move like it used to? It seems in 2024.2 its just static:
