Kinetic deleting Crystal Report files when printing (not preview)

We are running Epicor Kinetic version 2022.2.14 and using some custom Crystal Reports.

The reports are saved under:
\KINETIC\wwwEpicor\Kinetic\Server\reports\CustomReports

We have encountered a serious issue where if a report is opened from within Kinetic and we use Print Preview and then Print it,it works as expected. But if the user clicks “Print” (and not preview), then the .rpt file is DELTED from the folder.

The file is completely removed from the directory and is gone! (as has to be recovered from a backup if one is available)

We have tested this with multiple reports, including one saved with a valid printer and one saved with “No Printer”, and both behave the same way and get deleted when Printed from within Kinetic.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what could be causing Kinetic to delete the report file?

That is a new one - I have not seen that yet.

We usually keep ours in \\SERVER\EpicorData\CustomReports because during a Upgrade it could delete CustomReports from Server/reports especially if someone doesnt do a in-place upgrade but like removes the AppServer and recreates it.

I have not seen that and would strongly recommend reaching out to support since it is deleting files it seems without reason which is very concerning.

Please be sure to update this thread with the resolution when you get it.

I have seen it and I don’t recall how to fix it. When we ran the report, it would delete the report. This was back on 9 or 10 though. I think I made the directory itself read-only, so that the account could access it, but not delete it.
