@timshuwy what is the meaning of this? How can it be gauging interest if nobody else can see it?
They have been doing that for many years now, I think since Version 9. The reason was that people were sharing the data fix files with others who maybe were not on support or perhaps that fix was not meant for their system and causing issues. I think it was the sharing that was a problem. Now they are programmed for your specific Customer ID I believe, so that eliminates the sharing of fixes issue, however, they are very “Safe Harbor” so makes sense to me that they have the exp date in that mindset. You are correct, though back when, I would re-run them whenever I needed them. Not sure why the KI is showing those limitations though, lol
Yeah my question isn’t about why the data fixes expire - I understand why they do it but I just don’t like it. I don’t mind it being tied to a specific company/license and/or a specific version. But expiring in as little as 2-3 months is obnoxious when you may need that fix for 6 months or a year and have to keep re-requesting.
I just don’t understand the status of my kinetic idea.
I just can’t believe I was excluded from this thread from the title alone.
When this idea was transferred to Support, it got marked this way by mistake. We try to be as transparent as possible.
In this case, this “idea” is not something that development has direct control over. This is an idea that is a change in procedures that are implemented by our Support team. We have notified them of the idea.
I have changed the idea so that it is viewable.
