Kinetic requiring Edge Agent for Attachments - when will it end?

Does anyone know if the requirement to use Edge Agent with Kinetic in order to add attachments (Attachment Link type) is going away in 2025.2?

As far as I remember, you only need it to click on that search button to search for the local file, because browser won’t allow you to get full file path.

So then if we use Attachment Link type, this will be a forever requirement?? Unbelievable.

If it’s a local attachment, how would you think that’s going to work? Modern browsers do not allow that level of access, and for good reason.

If only there was a standalone shell for kinetic, so there wasn’t the concern of browser add-ons and you could access local files.. :face_without_mouth:

I hate the Edge Agent - currently migrating my attachments to SharePoint to get rid of our requirement for it.
