Kinetic Tracker Fields - need to restrain changes in a tracker field from initiating a grid refresh

When a dashboard has been “uplifted” and the tracker fields have been cut-copied into a column component (situated within a group component - so they appear alongside (or above) the grid, I have added a button to initiate the refresh – and it works fine after the initial dashboard form load. BUT if a change is made to any one of the tracker fields – an automatic refresh takes place. In the case where a dashboard has multiple tracker fields, and a user wants to change more than 1 of those fields, they are forced to wait for the grid to refresh for each field that is changed. It would be nice if the use could simply click on a Refresh button AFTER making their changes to selected tracking fields. Is creating a rather complex Expression and calling the BAQ via REST the only way to avoid this? Is it just me or am I missing something here. After uplifting a dashboard (with multiple tabs and each with trackers) the result is, frankly, unusable for our end users. We have a recent upgrade to Kinetic (soon to be moving to the cloud), Converting a significant number of dashboards, many of which have multiple BAQs/trackers, with the new Kinetic is like wading through a murky swamp after having flown with eagles under classic.
