Kinetics 2025.2 Help AI is ... kinda cool

Thought a fun news story for the Epiusers help would be nice after the turmoil of 2026 so far.

After upgrading to 2025.2 (on prem) we have been giving the help AI built in a bit of a whirl and it’s quite useful. I can see this being useful to explain stuff to end users and for quick questions. Only small gotcha (Epicor read this) is when you press enter to submit the query there is noting to tell you its generating an AI response, which take about 15 seconds to start to reply.

Of course I’ve tried to jail break on sort of go it to, see last image.

Cool to see this in action — thanks for the screenshots!!

The AI seems promising for end-user support and quick help tasks. A visual cue or loading indicator after submitting a query would definitely improve usability, especially for new users waiting for a response.

We’re upgrading to this version this year, so it’s good to see this seems to work well. Do you know if it’s possible to point it at your own documents too?

Thanks,

Nathan

No, there are no config options.

If you want to create an AI assistant that works on your own docs it’s really easy to do via Azure (assuming you want them behind your MS authentication etc). I did one for out HR team for the staff and managers to use and it works really well.

Ah, that’s a shame. We’ve done similar with the Microsoft stack in the past, I was hoping to have something built in to Epicor.

Agreed, I only found this by accident as I typed something in then got distracted by something for a few minutes then turn around and saw it outputting an answer. I was half sure being on prem that this was a mistake on Epicors part.

Seems to be working now.

I am sure that everyone will be excited to see Application Studio Prism Edition in full flight… There is a webinar coming up if I recall.
