I did the same last week. Easiest I came up with was the Vantage Export
Utility, to an Excel file. Then used the mail merge in MS word.

If you're not familiar with the export, this querry will get you all the
vendors. Just pick the fields you want:

for each Vendor Where Vendor.Company = cur-comp no-lock
By Vendor.Name:

I need to print labels with information on them based on the Sales
Order line items. Does anyone have a report that does this?

Bonus question:
How about multiple labels per line item based on Qty Ordered?

Long ago in previous life (OK, job) I had to make labels that would adhere to steel products - both painted and bare (mostly Zincalume coated, sort of like galvanized). These were roll formed steel panels for construction industry. We found that for regular applications unless the panels were coated with oils or lubricants labels would stick OK....long enough for shipping etc... But because the products often sat outside in our shipping yard and/or at the construction site, exposed to weather there were complications. We ended up working with label vendor to get a super strong adhesive on the labels. Flip side was if they had to be removed it required scrubbing with alcohol. Also, due to sunlight exposure, heat (at Phoenix plant) and cold (at Anchorage plant) and rain (at Tacoma) we had to use Thermal Transfer (with ribbon) and a special water proof wax resin. If I recall correctly the labels with the strong adhesive would not work as Direct Thermal anyway because when the put the adhesive on the label it was too warm for heat sensitive paper.

Prior to finding the right stuff I tested a variety on sample metals and froze in my freezer, put in my oven, soaked in shower and left some outside for three months. The adhesive we found did very well in testing so if you work with a supplier you ought to be able to find something similar.

Since we are on the label topic, does anyone use labels on steel and if
so does it stick well?

Thanks

We have been using an adhesive label for around 2 years. We have
problems with the print coming off, which we are trying to overcome with
a transparent cover, and we have had one report of the labels coming
unstuck, which I suspect was caused by oil underneath them.

Our labels are used on equipment supplied to refineries and off shore
platforms, so the applications don't get much more arduous!

We use a Thermal Transfer Label Material in various widths and lengths
e,g CiLS part no. 44A-6955 8200K-HT Metalised Polyester with High-Tack
permanent solvent acrylic adhesive - I am sure you can find something
similar in the US.
