Both bugs you speak of are still in 5.0!! Sorry they are lying to ya.
Maybe they said they will try to fix them in 5.0. The substring error bug
is caused by entering a %complete on setup transactions leave it zero and
you should be OK.

Bfblnd bug is still present and occurs approximatly once a week for us and
usually on the weekend when there is no traffic. Thus Mondays I need to
arrive an 1-1/2 hours early to shutdown Labor Collector, then the
Prowin32.exe process using Ctrl-Alt-Del (Task Manager) at the server. Then
restart Gateway, restart Labor Collector. The problem seems to be Progress
related and NT/2000 specific. Gateways running other OS software are not
experiencing this problem.

Just to bring you up to speed.

Regards,

Darren

Our labor collector has been locking up frequently of late. We are using
4.0 with all the newest patches and two of the most common errors we have
been getting are a "Bfblnd error" and a "Substring must be > than 1".
Vantage acknowledges the bfblnd error and has fixed it in 5, so they will no
longer worry about fixing it in 4. They have no idea what is causing the
substring > 1 error.(Surprise) The Substring error causes the most trouble,
one day it locked up the labor collector 4 times. Since all that is
required is to simply click OK to the error message I was wondering if
anyone had experimented with programming some code that could check for this
or any error and automate the process, possibly in VB. I refuse to upgrade
to 5 until they fix all the labor collector bugs.
