Laserjet 6p and Report Builder

just to add another option if you choose to ditch the stinksys. I put in an
HP-4000 Print Appliance a year ago... handles up to 64 print queues.
Currently I have 4 large plotters and 15+ color and b&w laser printers
spooling to it. The things an animal! Never! I mean NEVER!! hiccups :)) Easy
Java config tool and once its in place adding additional printers is a
breeze.

Mike, I would ditch the linksys print server if I were you. I had one and
could not get it to work for printing more than a page or 2. Also would
hang frequently with printer drivers that wanted to communicate directly
with printers. I know this does not help you but thought you might like to
know you are not alone with this problem.

LaserJet 6p w/2 meg ram hooked to 3 port linksys print server.
Using NT 4.0 SP 6 as server, clients are 9x. Vantage 4.0

Printer prints small reports and non-Report Builder items just
fine.

When compiling a report that takes more than 10 mins (roughly)
Get a Report Builder/Windows printer error. Says printer not
responding, cable not plugged in etc etc.

Has anyone seen this error? If yes how did you fix it?

Thanks

For the printer in question open printer properties - ports - try unchecking
"enable bi-directional support".
