Leading Spaces in customer PO # field of Order Entry

We are using the feature of “check for duplicate POs” for all of our customers.

I just saw a case where one of our order entry people had a leading space in the customer PO field and Epicor did not see it as a duplicate. If there are trailing spaces on this field, Epicor will identify it as a duplicate. Including the space preceding the PO number most likely occurred due to a sloppy cut and paste function.

Has anyone created a BPM to strip all leading spaces from the entry into a field?
