Legacy Idiot

So we have a process I wrote in 2020 that deals with paper orders, something broke on it it has been working fine for 6 years.

I have to dust off the code and try and figure out what’s wrong. Its written in .net 4… I do’nt even have .net 4 installed…

I can’t even get it to compile.. who was the idiot that wrote this? When I wrote it I swear I knew what I was doing… but that guy is old and tired now. #SendHelp

I have faith.

Back before that you wrote something called “GG1” for me to populate a bazillion or so UD fields from an incoming text file… you got this!

^ well I was right about this… after getting the dumb thing to finally compile and run…

here’s the exception… Anyone wanna guess what the issue is?

SIGh

I’m seeing a lot of things about territories and ship tos there so… probably permissions to that?

bingo some idiot.. (me… i’m the idiot) added the account running this integration to a Sales Rep (territory) le sigh

Territory security!

Think this was already mentioned…

Novice me was able to train a Agent to uplift our BPMs and Functions to EFCore compatibility so I’m pretty sure someone with your skills could get an Agent trained easy to do it.

Hadn’t scrolled down!

You’d be surprised…

If this idiot (me) can do it anyone can.

Uh Huh Yes GIF

Me, looking at code I wrote last week.

Similarly, I worked at CodaBears during this time and Jose’s phone number was pinned above everyone’s desk for resources to contact.

Fun fact there is a built-in new Security Group that allows a User to bypass all the Territory security, the BAQs should run faster too.
