If my Load Cost Details is greyed out when I select cost data what is it that I am missing? New user joys!! and no one on site has any idea. great!!
Nahar, what do you mean? Can you share screenshots?
wish i could but I am unable to screenshot, from the Action Menu the directions say Run “Load Cost Details” and its greyed out so I cant select it. I am just trying to change a labor burden rate and all directions have done nothing.
If you are in Costing Workbench then you need to create a group, add a description and select the site before the Actions menu becomes available.
If this is not where you are, please can you advise what form you are using and the steps you are taking
Thank you so much Sue. I dont want to create a group. I want to update new year Labor cost/Labor burden rate. Thank you
but that is the way that the costing workbench works… you must first create a costing group and then you can populate and post the changes. If you want to change the rates manually, you can go into the resource groups / resources and directly change them there.
ok i see, so i create a new group. it will update all SKU’s ?
Thanks for chiming in @timshuwy, am I right in saying the following?
Changing the rates on the resource groups/resources directly will update the actual costs that get posted to the jobs when clocking into those and also reflect on any future BOOs that are changed or added to the system, but for all the current revs and bills, the cost of the resource group/ resources would stay the same unless we use the costing workbench to update them, is that correct?
it will change all future (from the point you save) charges when you clock in and out of operations. The reason for using the costing workbench is that you can create a group, do all your changes in advance, and then on the date you want to “go live” with the changes you would post the change. If you are in a standard cost environment, and you have brought in all your assemblies, and you do a cost roll, it will also update all the costs of those assemblies as well. but if you only post the resource cost change without rolling, then the standard costs would remain the same, AND you would then see variances in the future.
Thank you so much Tim, I am going to start a test run in the pilot version now. Much appreciated!
thanks a ton Tim!
