Jason,
I have noticed this same thing in our AP department. I'll try to explain
what I have found, and hopefully, it will be the same problem you are
experiencing.
In Progress, if a process is running, and the user clicks on the screen, it
appears as though the click was not accepted (this is because of the
annoying lack of an hour glass). When the background process ends, the
previous click actually executes, regardless of how long between the click
and the end of the process. Don't stop reading here, because this is not
the end of the story. You may already understand this, but, if not, it is
important that you do before you can understand the rest.
If a running process results in a dialog box (maybe a report that calls the
windows print dialog), and an inadvertent mouse click occurs during that
process, the mouse click is actually executed in the wrong order. It
executes before the dialog box appears, causing the focus to go to the main
screen, and the dialog box to go to the background. If this happens, the
screen will appear to be hung, because the dialog box has control even
though it doesn't have focus. Hopefully this makes sense. At any rate, the
situation can be easily fixed by clicking on the task bar button for the
dialog box. This will bring it to the front so that it can be cleared, thus
releasing control to the main screen.

Subject: [Vantage] Lock Up in AP
Our accounts payable department is having problems with the Invoice Entry
portion of the Accounts Payable module in Vantage. Many times, although not
consistently, when they click on "Line" in the menu bar, their system will
lock
up instead of getting the drop down menu. This problem cannot be created on
demand but does happen often and on more than one system.
Has anyone experienced the same problem and, if so, were you able to resolve
it?
Thanks,
Jason Gippner
