Dan, did you load any Progress patches along with it?

-Wayne
I installed vantage patch 904 and progress patch 90b44 on 12/9, and since
then have been plagued with work station lock ups, and "record in use"
errors being generated. I have to frequently use promon to disconnect users
that were ungracefully disconnected from vantage.

anyone else experiencing similar problems, and have a fix. I am tempted to
go back to the old patches.

thanks

Norm Watkins
Norm,

Actually I get that all the time. Its actually gotten better for me since
the latest patches. I run Vantage on our Terminal Server and was thinking
that may be the root of my problems. If you come up with anything, please
let me know.

I have been getting this since we went on 4.0 . Now I get people
clocked into jobs with no number, 0 Assembly, 0 Operation. Does anyone
have this problem as well? I have called Epicor and I was told that the
blank job problem only happens on Win95 machines. Are you on Win95? My
labor person is getting tired of fixing labor all of the time.

Is anyone using a VPN connection between branches? And if so how do you feel
about the security.

Are you using Cable, ISDN, ADSL, etc for the connection?

I've seen this problem with the assm. 0, operation 0 and it occured on a Windows NT 4 workstation. Epicor support also told me that it only occurred on Windows 95 computers, but as you see that wasn't the case. They really weren't much help on the issue. The problem was solved by replacing the network card on the computer generating the error.

Most PC's that have an onboard NIC that can be disabled. Check your system documentation to find out how to do that.

I have also experience more lockups than usual since intalling the 904
patch. Mine are confined to 1 or 2 workstations - usually twice a day I
have to disconnect someone from the database.
