Mailing Label problem in Report Builder

I believe I've run into the columns type capabilities in RB working only at the record band level. I am pretty sure I got around it by conditional reporting on the record band. Check the Help for "Records Across". In a real pinch where you need only the first or last record of a group you can create an alias version of the table and use the PREVIOUS function to detect when the grouping you are looking for has changed and then report from the PREVIOUS or current table. The lookback linking can be tricky though. I've never tried any aggregates with this though.

I'm having difficulty creating mailing labels using report builder and was
hoping someone could shed some light. Trying to print a 3 across label
sheet. It works fine when I use no group for data and just a record header.
But when I try to group data and pull only certain addresses it will only
print 1 column down the left side. I'm using the same page and record
properties as the other customer labels that do print 3 across. It's
driving me crazy....grrrrrrrr
