I think the only place I’m still stuck is that for configured orders that are not “stockable”, I have a make direct order and it assumes it will be made in the site that I want to ship it from. However, as we’re talking here, it is manufactured in a different site. And it isn’t consumed in another job - it’s just shipped out of the other site. Any tricks for this one?
We discovered that for several other reasons this customer can’t go with NonStock (their internal processes are such that everything has to flow through inventory), so we’re using some other custom processes to link the sales order to the job.
@Ernie do tell my friend. Multi Level Pegging?
nope… UD fields. They are using a separate application to do the initial selling, which generates a unique serial number, which gets entered onto the Kinetic SO Line… and then after MRP creates the job, Production assigns that same serial number to the finished product (all jobs are for qty 1).
We’re fairly early on in the testing phase, but so far it works.
Sounds like it makes the serialization easier. Good luck in testing!
