Is there an out of the box Epicor way to maintain/show the relationships if a KIT part belongs to multiple finished product parts?
For example we sell a kit that includes a grill leg along with the nuts, washers, bolts etc. This Kit can work for multiple grill models (other parts set up in Epicor). Our sales team wants to ensure that a customer gets the right service kit according to model (another part in Epicor).
Will a customization need to be created to accommodate this relationship?
Jeff, I have seen and heard the KIT word used many ways. Are you talking about the Epicor Sales Kit usage or is you using the word KIT as a generic term?
Wouldn’t a part where used lookup show what you want?
Based on what you are describing, I would say there isn’t an out-of-the-box solution to associate a Sales Kit (assuming that is what you are using) or a final SKU (made up of many parts, but created as a Manufactured Part) to a top level part.
You will likely need to use a UD table to show what final Parts go with what “kit”. Alternatively, you can create a single UD field on the Part with what “kit” goes with it.
