Material Request Queue - Job Material Picks missing To Bin and To Warehouse

Hi,

We’ve been using Epicor (Kinetic but w/E10 UI) for several years but have only just noticed the job material picks do not show a To Bin or To Warehouse. We’re quite a small organisation with only one Warehouse and speaking to the Warehouse team, they know where to take the materials by what the materials are and using their product knowledge. Even so, this doesn’t seem right to me, as surely one of the crucial bits of information on a pick list, is where to take the item you are picking? The jobs the materials are being issued to have a Resource and Resource Group but this isn’t on the pick queue.

Yeah, its one of those things that would seem to make sense.

I would assume you could modify the Pick List report to show that information (scheduled resource, etc.).

However, one issue is that the schedule and shop load could be shifting around, and you could print your Pick List in advance. So, you would have a printed report saying these parts need to go to Resource 1234. But by the time that job is ready to run, it has been rescheduled to Resource 9876. Now your previously printed Pick List report is not correct vs the actual schedule.

The Pick List is really just a shopping list. “Get these parts from the warehouse for this job.”

The Issue Material step, when the parts actually leave " on hand inventory" DOES display the “TO” warehouse/bin location (on screen).

The MRQ does have fields for To WH and To BIN but they aren’t required.

Not all workflows involve knowing and specifying the exact destination of material at the time the request is made.

They can be populated, it depends on how the requests are generated. A simple Move Material Request allows the user to specify this information, for example.
