Memo Key1 Blank Title 79220

I would very strongly doubt that they took this capability away in E9.

I started with Memo, then added Customer. I manually created the relationships: Memo.Company = Customer.Company, Memo.Key1 = Customer.CustNum. Then I added the filter for ChgLog.TableName = 'Customer'.

I know the BAQ developer program is significantly more functional in E9. Can you follow a similar path to try to set this up?

Thank you for trying that out! Unfortunately I am on Epicor9 and it does not allow me convert the customer number string. It just gives me an error - Incompatible data types in expressing or assignment, and I cannot edit the query phrase.

Hi - Has anyone found a way to join the customer number to the Memo Key1 field? I want to add a sheet of Customer memos to Sales Order Entry, for Company, RelatedToFile,Key1 where Key1 contains the customer number value. The Key1 is character, and the customer number is integer.
I was trying a BAQ/Dashboard approach but could not get the join working.
Do I need to do this in a VB script?

Thanks!

All I can think of is that you field values in your UD table records somehow don't match the type of what you want to join them to OR perhaps your character field data in the UD fields are padded out with spaces (and thus don't match and successfully join to the unpadded Company field record values for example).

I swore this didn't use to work in 405.

But I just created this BAQ:

for each ChgLog where ( ChgLog.TableName = 'Customer') no-lock , each Customer where (ChgLog.Company = Customer.Company and ChgLog.Key1 = string(Customer.CustNum)) no-lock .

I'm displaying Customer.CustID and ChgLog.DateStamp/LogText and it works as expected.

Huh.

Notice that the BAQ program correctly interprets the join as requiring a type conversion.

I made one with Customer Memos as well:

for each Memo where ( Memo.RelatedToFile = 'Customer') no-lock , each Customer where (Memo.Company = Customer.Company and Memo.Key1 = string(Customer.CustNum)) no-lock .

BTW, for those who are struggling with establishing 'for each' queries in BPM query conditions, the syntax is identical.
