I discovered that this morning, when things worked as I wanted them to. OK, we can deal with this. Only a couple of people will be in the second company, but those couple need to be able to work with MES in both.
I also discovered in digging around the customization tools that you can set the company in the code, but that could get tricky, I think. Still, it's nice to know that the property is accessible.

MES doesn't log you into the last company you are logged into on
Vantage, but it is the last company you were logged into in Vantage
the last time you Logged OUT of Vantage. I don't know of a way to
change companies from within MES, unfortunately.
