MES screen Customization for Employee ID

I am trying to do a simple customization and need some advice on how to do it.

I am planning to run MES on a Tablet, so I want to simplify the login process.

One of the process of Logging in is to type in Employee ID on the screen. I would like to know if there is a way to turn the Employee ID box to become a combo box that contains a list of active employee names?

I mean the combo box will show the name of the Employee rather than just the Employee ID.

I am currently running 10.0.7.4

I would leave the EmployID field alone and create UD field to display the User full name assigned based on the value of the Employee ID. Or perhaps you can do the opposite.
