What methods are in use that employers use to insure that the employee is present when clocking in and clocking out. Are any biometrics economically viable? We are considering making the employee id a hidden code and putting it on an RFID chip but that only proves that the RFID chip is available.
Put a couple of these around your MES terminals

They're fake cameras. but nobody needs to know that besides you. Scare
tactics.

Thumb print scanners are cheap, but relating a thumbprint scan to an
employee ID is going to be a headache. Plus, that only means that the thumb
was there, not the employee. Cigar cutter, anyone?

Oh, Oh...implant them with the RFID chips!

Ok we use ADP and they have hand devices to clock the guys in and out of their shifts by scanning their whole hand. Wasn't expensive.

So I'm guessing you will be able to find biometric devices relatively cheap out there.
