Out of the blue today, my Epicor client started to crash just as soon as I click on the icon to run it. I’ve uninstalled the client completely, reinstalled it, but same thing. Did a system restore to a few days back, same thing. It had been working fine and never had a problem with it. No new software was installed or anything. I literally closed it down and then re-started it and then this started. Strangely, I found that if I change the mfgsys.exe to run in Windows xp sp3 compatibility mode, it starts up and runs. Anyone know what could have caused this behavior???? I’m at a lost…

Mike,
We found if you clear this file it will start working again.
C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\CLR Security Config\v2.0.50727.312 remove the .cch file.
Tom
We get around this by updating the compability mode of the Epicor shortcut and set it to Windows XP (Service Pack 3) . I believe this is a known issue.
Kristine
Yea, that’s what I did initially (and it worked) but I cleared out the cache file that was mentioned by another user and that fixed it to where I could put it back like it was originally (non compatibility mode)
