We are upgrading from ERP10 to Kinetic and cannot get our current MICR printer to print from Kinetic properly. Test checks to our regular network printers are lining up fine, but the MICR printer is not correct. We are being told our printer is old and we need a new one, but there is no recommendation that can be provided.
Is there anyone else experiencing this? Is there a list of supported hardware anywhere? Any help appreciated!
Welcome @jlegates !!
Going from 10 to Kinetic - am I safe to assume you are moving the AP Check form from Crystal to SSRS? You really only have a couple of options, One being to stick with Crystal. It still works with Kinetic and should stay working for another year or two. Epicor planned on removing it, but things changed earlier in 2024.
The second option is to fight with SSRS designer in order to move elements around in the RDL in order to get things to print correctly. I know that MICR lines have to be pretty precise. SSRS is generally a PITA for things like this.
Hope that helps!
Thanks they have said they cannot move the MICR line anymore and buy a new Printer! We are not crystal so I think SSRS…
I’d get them check around on the internet for SSRS MICR Line formatting. Epicor’s SSRS support is limited, but since it’s a widespread product, there are many more websites and consultants out there who may be able to help you.
Good luck!
If i remember correctly i ran into this issue many moons ago.
Try changing the Paper Source to A4 instead of letter. Also remember to set the bottom margin at zero in SSRS.
The A4 format is slightly narrow but is longer than a 11" page. That will allow you to print the MICR symbols much lower on the page than allowed for a Letter size.
