Hello: Vantage 8.03.408, trying to do something which seems like it should be so easy, but... I have 45 customer records that are in territory 4 and I have 1 salesperson assigned to that territory. This salesperson resigned last week so I need to re-assign those customer accounts. I went to the sales territory maintenance, added the salesperson who is now handling these accounts, made him the primary salesperson. When I go to the Actions menu, and select Adjust Current Territory. It tells me the process is complete and I then post the pending territory re-assignments, but my customer records are not updated to reflect the new salesperson.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated since Ican't find any helpful documentation on the CRM module and changing salespeople on customer records.

I know that with only 45 records I could manually change the salesperson, but I have much larger territories that if I ever need to change the salesperson on those accounts, doing it manually would not be an option.

Thanks,
Virginia Joseph

Virginia, that tool typically is used to reassign opportunities/quotes from one salesperson to another (If I am wrong on this I am sure someone will let us know) If you have CRM you have the Import Customers/Contacts capability under CRM/General Operations. If you look at the Help File it will tell you the format for the csv file to upload. Enter the new sales rep id, customer IDs to change, and territory and upload. It will change the salesperson to those new accounts

I have a word document on this if you need help on importing or changing customers and salespersons

Hi Mark: I used the re-assign opportunities/quotes function successfully without any problems. The reassign button resides on the salespersons sheet within the Territory Maintenance and it worked just like I would expect. The functionality I am asking about is under the Actions menu, 'Adjust Current Territory' and when you select that menu option, the title of the window that appears is 'Adjust Customers for Current Territory' so this leads me to believe that this should adjust the main customer records.

Thanks for your suggestion for importing customers. If you could send me the word document I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Virginia
