MISC ITEMS Blank Title 54510

You still need to enter a part number for a custom part you do not keep
in your Part File. So give it a part number which differs from your
normal parts, and it will be clear through the workshop that this is a
custom part. You can name this part number anything, as long as it not
one of your normal part numbers! Of course you lose all of your normal
part information storage, such as pricing, product groups, costs etc.
These all need to be manually entered as required in your sales order.

All,
I am pretty sure that I heard something about not having to have a part
in
the master file unless I use it in the engineering workbench..but I
should
be able to buy it and sell it.

However, when I am in sales order entry, and I select NEW LINE and enter
in
a description and try to save the line, it tells me PART IS MADATORY.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Thanks
Carey

Todd Anderson,

I've joined one of my employees to this group but she hasn't
received any emails. Can you please check to see if she's active? Her
yahoo tells her that its waiting for approval.

In the Quote Entry section of Vantage, you can right click on the date to
bring up a calendar. The Sales people want to be able to see holidays and
weekends blacked out so they do not schedule orders to ship on those days.
The weekends aren't critical but the holidays can be a problem. Is there a
way to make this calendar reflect the holidays? On the plant calendar, I
know I can set the holidays. Any information would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Part is mandatory, but you can put anything in there - doesn't have to be
in parts master.

Even though the part may not be in the part master file, you still need
to make a part #. This hot-keyed part # it passed from the sales order
to the job and finally out to shipping. All material transactions in the
system are tied by the PN regardless if it is in the master file or not
so blank part #'s are not allowed.
