Someone entered a receipt of inventory against a PO that has inspection required. Therefore we have a PUR-INS transaction and the inv value is sitting in the Inspection GL account 14040. In chart tracker, i only see a PUR-INS debit and no corresponding INS-STK credit to move this amount out of 14040 into stock or elsewhere. WIP has been captured and there are no inventory entries under Inspection processing to be processed.
The PO line still shows open even though a receipt exists, but I also can’t unreceive or delete the receipt because trying so says that it has been inspected and can’t be unreceived. How do I find this inspection record?
Apparently it hasn’t been posted to GL because its not in chart tracker. Could the inspection step have been deleted instead of processed - and if so, how to fix?
Or could the inspection have been applied to a future date in a future period and not posted since I only captured WIP for Sept? If so, how do I find the inspection transaction? I can’t see one under the PO or the receipt trackers?
It does not. Only the PUR-INS shows up and that does not increment the running total on hand for the Part. Interestingly, Inspection is required on the PO but inspection required is unchecked on the receipt. I think our receiving clerk may have cleared this box on the receipt to get the item to not get stuck in inspection just prior to month end cutoff but now it is not available either for inspection or for stock or to reverse. How can we clear this?
Did you check under Part Tracker? Where are these quantities sitting? Looks like they might be in Inspection bin/default(Quarantine) bin for inspection.
If you could locate that, do a stock to stock movement for this part using Move inventory module. Not sure if this is a great solution but might get you through?
If the “Receiving Inspection Required” checkbox is set on the Supplier, PO, or Part level, it would be grayed out on the Receipt Entry screen… the receiver would not be able to unselect it. The Receipt Entry screen had to have that box selected at the time of receipt, since that’s the only way the PUR-INS transaction would have been created (if it were UNSELECTED at the time of receipt, there would be a PUR-STK or PUR-MTL transaction type).
Don’t know what else is going on here, but this isn’t making a lot of sense.
