Missing JobProd records

No joins are involved but thanks for the suggestion. It might still be an
index problem. What Progress app rebuilds indexes?

Todd,

Perhaps you have a problem with your indices. Report Builder will use the
indices within the database if it can match one to your joins. I would run
the Progress app to rebuild the index.

Thanks Sarah for your confirmation of my assumption that JobProd contains
all the order related links.

Further testing reveals another oddity. Many jobs do not show up in
Report
Builder and they are all consecutive after a starting point. For example
all
jobs up to T002429 show up and all jobs starting with T after it do not,
then all jobs starting with TP work to a point and all after that point do
not. RB simply can't find them. Funny thing is running an export using
the
export utility finds all the JobProd records just fine (as does Vantage
screens).

Anyone know of any bugs like this in Report Builder (Progress 9.0B)? No
links, no filter, just one record band with one field (JobNum) and the
resulting report is missing whole chunks of job numbers, all consecutive
and all at the end of each range (perhaps something happened at some point
so more recent ones have a problem for RB?).

Thanks,

I am trying to figure out a reason why a job which shows links to 8 order
lines plus a remainder to stock does not show up in the JobProd table. When
in Job Entry I can see all of the demand links and and in Job Tracker on the
Job page the Links tab shows all of the orders and the warehouse for the
stock part. But if I write a very simple report builder report to filter
for the job number and show any records I get none. If I eliminate the
filter and look at all the jobs in the system (in JobProd) the job does not
show up at all.

Any ideas as to how job entry and tracker can find this job and the order
links but it does not show in the jobprod table? I am starting to worry
that all the reports I have written assuming all the links are in jobprod
may be based on a faulty understanding on my part of where this info is
stored.

Thanks,

nevermind and thanks.]

Hi Todd,

I did read your message last night. I really couldn't thin of anything to
say because I have always operated under the assumption that all jobs set up
for orders have at least one record in the JobProd table. I, too, base all
my links on this for reports and have NEVER had a case where a job didn't
show up.

From the data dictionary the JobProd Table definition: "Defines the Demand
for Production. Establishes a many to many link between jobs and the related
demand records. Demands can be orders, warehouses, or other jobs."

Are you sure the job number is what you think it is, for example, there is
not a space at the start of it or something that could throw off the filter
and the sort?
