More Dashboard Help

I figured I would cover both:).

Additionally...
The instructions I gave you was for Searching using a BAQ. However;
if you want to retrieve and display the results of a dashboard within
a sheet/form, then that is the other really cool functionality they
added to 8.03.403x . And it is called the URL/XSLT View. Again...if
you have the User Guide Tools book, it starts on page 359. If you
don't have the book...get it!!!

The XSLT View functionality is a little more complicated than the
quick search. So if you have questions on how to...either refer to
the book or call Epicor Tech Support (Option 3 then 4).

Hello.
I have recently created a dashboard for use throughout our company. I
am still very new to dashboards and I was wondering if there is a way
to add the new dashboard to the "Open with" list that pops open when
right-clicking on part numbers.

Thanks.
What version are you on?

When they came out with 8.03.403x, they added this really cool
functionality called Quick Search. Do you have the Tools User
Guide? If not, get it!!!! If you do, it's on Page 260.

So I too noticed in 8.03.403C, the Basic search does not work for
Where Description Contains...no biggie...here is how you can get
around the bug:

1. Security...you must have security to do Quick Search Entry. Open
User Security and go to the Security tab. Grant access to yourself
for 'Can Maintain Quick Search'. Logout and back in.
2. Open Part Entry or Part Tracker.
3. Right Click in the Description field and choose Quick Search
Entry.
4. Give it an ID & Description
5. Find your BAQ (it should be a simple query on the Part and Plant
tables displaying Part, Part Description, etc)
6. Return Column = Part.PartDesciption
7. Check the Shared and All Occurances checkboxes
8. New Quick Search Criteria
9. Click on the drop down and choose Part.PartDescription
10. Caption = Description
11. Condition = Matches
12. Criteria Type = Prompt
13. Save & Close.
14. Now Right Click on the Description field...you should be
prompted with your Quick Search

*abc* will find anything in your DB that has a part description that
contains abc. *abc will find anything that ends with abc. And abc*
will find anything that starts with abc.

Hope this helps.
