Hi Toby,
Our customers dictate when a job is due also and we are constantly moving dates in and out, which makes planning and scheduling very difficult. I am currently modifying our Shipl(the Project Planners bible) report to look at this data and tell us if the job as moved in or out of a certain date range. I will hopefully be done by the end of the week. I can share the report with you if you like.
Regards,

If the Scheduler forces the issue, besides the need to fire this individual, you need to setup a BAM to warn you of this event and to e-mail the Purchaser.

If the scheduler and the Purchaser are having issues on availability of product or the Scheduler does not understand Purchasing job then perhaps a meeting is well over due. Communication helps prevent mistakes and catastrophes.
