Moving reports from Vantage 8.3 to Epicor 9

You can't just switch the connection. You need to essentially recreate
the report using the new BAQ dataset provided.

You can copy the formula's from one report to another and then change
the field names to the correct ones.

I don't think you can switch because in ODBC each table is separate,
whereas in BAQ multiple tables are in the same dataset (merged).

Subject: [Vantage] Moving reports from Vantage 8.3 to Epicor 9

Hello,

We are in the process of upgrading our Vantage to Epicor 9. We want to
take advantage of BAQ in our reports. We have about 30 reports that run
using ODBC to connect to the Vantage database.

We talked to Epicor support and they indicated that we should use BAQ to
create the base for our reports and use ADO.NET (XML). I went through
and created the BAQ where I picked the tables and the columns that I
need for one of my reports and used the BAQ Designer to generate sample
data.

I opened my old report that used ODBC and when I tried to switch the
data connection to the ADO.NET (XML) I recieved an error message that
indicated "Table not found". It does not allow me to switch connection.

Has anyone been able to migrate their Vantage reports that use ODBC to
Epicor 9 using ADO.NET.

Thanks,

Dennis
