Moving Service Connect 8.2 Workflows from 8.03.305k to 8.03.4xx

Well I am not usually faint of heart but SC makes me pretty uncomfortable. Thanks to those who sent me info on consultants who do this kind of work.

Not for the faint of heart
web services will need to be reinstalled
all of the web references will need to be refreshed.
All the mappings in the conversions will need to be re created along with fixed values and functoids

In order to point them to the 8.03.4xx installation do I just need to change the web references in the administration console or am I going to need to hire them again to make the necessary changes? I have a training manual and messed with SC a little bit but it is way over my head.

We are in the process of moving to version 9 but have several months of testing, etc. to complete. In the mean time I would like to move to 8.03.4xx due to stability problems on the existing server.

We have 2 workflows that were created by the Epicor Tech Solutions Group. In order to point them to the 8.03.4xx installation do I just need to change the web references in the administration console or am I going to need to hire them again to make the necessary changes? I have been told that the SC tools in version 9 are greatly improved so my plan is to have them rewritten when we make the move. If there are any freelancers out there with decent experience and testimonials I would sure be willing to compare with options provided from Epicor.
Mark,

I’ve used Encompass (Cathlene Fishman) tons of times for Service Connect development and mods. They’re reasonable. Cathlene was with Epicor years ago when Service Connect was “born”. She’s one of the top experts in our community. They’re rates are very reasonable.

Good luck.
