Tim, this is not uncommon to list these as part numbers, keeping them as non-stock, non-quantity bearing so they do not have "inventory transactions" against them. You can also list those under a separate part class such as "MRO" or "tooling" so that when users are looking for parts they can use a part class quick search so they dont even bother seeing those items

It also keeps it consistent for purchasing to buy these parts so they do not have to enter them as "parts on the fly" so your part number and naming conventions are consistent for future analysis

I want to list all MRO items from the tool crib as parts in vantage so that I can better track and report on them. This has caused some controversy here. Some people say this is a good idea, but others say that this should be in a seperate system. It seems odd to me that we would create PO's and receipts for these items in vantage but not have part numbers for them.
Any and all opinions on this would be appreciated. I am planning to inventory the crib and get this stuff in as parts very soon if I am not cracked.
