MRP Behavior 8.03.409C

As I recall we had the same problem with one of our sites -- they were
checking that box without understanding what it meant for MRP, and then
unhappy with the nonsensical suggestions MRP was giving.

The date locked might have been the issue... I didn't think to check
that. We are playing with it now. Thanks!!

have 35 pcs on hand. We have a past due requirement for 80 pcs. We
have a PO due in for 100 pcs this week. So of course timephase shows
negative 45 pcs available as of today (because the demand is past due).

which it pushes out 21 days due to lead time of course. But the other
PO is still due in later this week, so if we listen to MRP, we will have
100 extra pcs. We can't figure out why it wouldn't just suggest to
expedite the PO that is due later this week. Why on earth would it
suggest to order another 100 pcs when I have 100 pcs coming in a few
days that will bring me positive?

We just went live on 409C, and there is a strange MRP behavior that support says is "working as designed".... Anyway, the issue is that we have 35 pcs on hand. We have a past due requirement for 80 pcs. We have a PO due in for 100 pcs this week. So of course timephase shows negative 45 pcs available as of today (because the demand is past due).

Our minimum on hand is 0, and minimum buy is 100. Lead time is 21 days.

MRP is telling us to order 100 pcs today to correct the negative, which it pushes out 21 days due to lead time of course. But the other PO is still due in later this week, so if we listen to MRP, we will have 100 extra pcs. We can't figure out why it wouldn't just suggest to expedite the PO that is due later this week. Why on earth would it suggest to order another 100 pcs when I have 100 pcs coming in a few days that will bring me positive?

Has anyone experience this before? Is there some setup that we can change to stop this behavior? Thanks.

Is the 100 pc open PO release date locked? I also assume this is all stock (not buy direct).
Any chance the open PO is pre-entered as a pending container receipt?
Also: Any chance the part-plant record is set up with sufficient days in and/or out to keep MRP from presenting a change suggestion?
