MRP forecast Inactive checkbox - how is it checked by system?

Does anyone know how the MRP system will set a forecast entry to inactive? I know you can manually update that field but it appears to also be system updated but I can’t find any documentation on when that occurs.

My understanding is that adding a sales order for the same customer/part/date combo would reduce the forecast, possibly setting it to inactive. Perhaps test this in a test system?

Hello Mark,

Thanks for the quick reply. I did test it several ways and I can’t get the inactive flag to set even though the quantity is fully consumed and shows as such on the forecast entry screen. Maybe there’s a time element involved also?

Hi John,
Did you ever find the answer to this? I’m seeing some forecasts being comsumed but not inactive and some not consumed but marked inactive.
