To all those running MRP in 702A….
I’m curious to know if upgrading to 702A has cured the major issues with MRP in older patches? For instance, does MRP still tend to hang randomly? Or any other issues!
TIA,
Manasa
If you have MultiPlant.
If you have Plant A, B, C tied to a part and it is a Manufactured part. Then you must have a primary rev to 1 plant, and the other plants must have an alt method attached.
Something that was not inforced in 607A, but is now in 702A…this is why my MRP is failing.

Subject: Re: [Vantage] RE: MRP issues in 9.05.702A
Manasa, we are still seeing MRP Hanging in some instances. Running scheduled data admin cleanup and recycle MRP jobs seems to help but we are seeing it still. We are seeing times when MRP will create a job header with no part number, sometimes missing demand links, so we have to go in and delete jobs, fix data issues such as lower level assemblies with effective dates greater then the top assembly effective date, etc
I wrote a dashboard specifically to review MRP Jobs, more info than job status maintenance, and look for strange occurrences so we can stay on top of those issues

If you have MultiPlant.
If you have Plant A, B, C tied to a part and it is a Manufactured part. Then you must have a primary rev to 1 plant, and the other plants must have an alt method attached.
Something that was not inforced in 607A, but is now in 702A...this is why my MRP is failing.

To all those running MRP in 702A....
I'm curious to know if upgrading to 702A has cured the major issues with MRP in older patches? For instance, does MRP still tend to hang randomly? Or any other issues!
TIA,
Manasa

TIA,
Manasa

Hi
We are having problems with our upgrade toi 905702 (from 905607) with mrp. Abandoned processing on parts that have no demand... mrp should be blowing through it for the 3 plants and then it just gets stuck. The abandoned parts also vary and they look the same as the ones that didn't cause problem...
'
What is scheudled data admin cleanup? I have call into epicor support and i am waiting for them to run the mrp on my database that i ftpd to them....
We have multi plants too.. Mark any chance I could see your dashboard to see if it showms me whats up with me problems?

Our company has been on 9.05.702A for nearly 6 months and we have been experiencing the same MRP problems everyone else is speaking of. We had an Epicor consultant help with the set up back in March and still had the same results. Over the past several weeks I found that If all the Unfirm Jobs, Purchase Suggestions and Transfer Suggestions are deleted prior to the nightly run, MRP will complete in about 2 hours, but I feel it defeats the purpose of MRP if someone has to go in and delete all the MRP suggestions daily. As far as I can tell from the logs it hangs up trying to schedule.
We run Regen daily on 607A because with the NetChange we would not get suggestions at time when new SO were entered. In our case, we can sometimes enter a SO today and build and ship tomorrow…so missing suggestions hurt.
Phil, ours hang there are well, at scheduling.
Mark, what does 5906 due opposed to a Regen?

Sure no problem I will send to you
I run 5100 - Recalculate Part lower level codes and 5906 - regenerate mfg suggestions on a weekly basis.

Our company has been on 9.05.702A for nearly 6 months and we have been experiencing the same MRP problems everyone else is speaking
of. We had an Epicor consultant help with the set up back in March and still had the same results. Over the past several weeks I found that If all the Unfirm Jobs, Purchase Suggestions and Transfer Suggestions are deleted prior to the nightly run, MRP will
complete in about 2 hours, but I feel it defeats the purpose of MRP if someone has to go in and delete all the MRP suggestions daily. As far as I can tell from the logs it hangs up trying to schedule.

Is it possible to post EPICOR Case #'s here? When I called support, they had no idea with issue with EPICOR. I just told them that there are other customers with similar issues.

Mine is 6774175MPS
Abandoned parts that have no demand and are setup as M in one plant, transfer in two others.
Nancy
This sure looks like a problem with multi-plant where parts have alternate methods. I think MRP needs to know which method is the default. I thought it just used the first method listed as the default but it looks like you need to choose one. A part that's used in more than one plant may have similar problems. MRP sees demand from multiple plants but it's getting confused about where to get it from. d
Does that make sense?
