I am trying to find how the Target Due Date is calculated for the planning workbench. I know there are many variables but I am looking for that somewhat basic logic of how it is calculated.

According to field help for Target Due Date:
Scheduled finish date for the entire Job (including move time). This is not user maintainable. It is updated via the scheduling process.
By contrast, the help for the Due Date field is:
Due date of the related requirement record.
OrderRel.ReqDate…
So the first is SUPPLY and is based on the job details and schedule, while the latter is DEMAND and is based on the demand Required By date.
I saw that in the help file too. I just wondered if there was more in the calculation than due date plus move time. I had a former coworker reach out because MRP is throwing weird suggestions on Planning workbench. The due dates are all over and not in any order
Please see below for 1 example, they are all engineered in job entry with a required date of 9/10/26. I don’t know where that date came from, i’d guess from a lazy planner! Any info is appreciated, I did ask internally but have not yet received an answer.
It looks like it is recommending expediting in order to meet those historical demand dates. Is the demand actually dated in the past?
