We discovered this week that not all of our material issuing transactions are creating records in the PartWip table. There’s no issue returning the material when needed, progressing through the job, receiving the job, completing/closing the job, or anything else. The WIP/Reconciliation report is correct, as well. Doesn’t seem to be having any negative impact, but is very curious.
I’ve found many instances of parts issued to a job, the job currently in work, having never been completed or closed (that would clear WIP), but there’s no WIP records in the PartWip table for that material on that job/asm/mtl, nor does anything show in the WIP card of the On Hand page in Activty tab of Part Entry/Tracker for that material.
We do have AMM licensed and have records in PartWip. We don’t have Track Wip Changes turned on, but I wouldn’t expect that to help in this instance anyway, since that is supposed to write to the PartWipTran table upon changes to the PartWip table.
Anyone else seen this? Have any ideas what causes this in some cases, but not others?
