I have a customer manufacturing at multiple sites, and they are having issues with costing quotes. Here are some particulars.
They have separate costing for each site, using average cost.
A method defined on the quote line might have parts that are manufactured at other sites and transferred to the quoting site, so there probably won’t be costing history at the quoting site.
Some of these parts at other sites might have an average cost established, which is what they would want to use.
If there is no established average cost they want to functionally use a BOM cost for the part, calculated on the fly.
If there is no average cost or revision for the part at the quoting site, they want to use one from another site.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Given it a try? Available from someone out of the box?
I’d rather not reinvent something that’s likely to be complex.
