We are new users to Vantage in our China facility, currently running
6.1 but about to change to 8.0. We have purchased the multisite
module. Our organization comprises 3 companies. 1)Factory/Warehouse
and sales in USA, 2)factory in China, 3)Trading Company in HK. A
typical scenario for sales is that HK quotes and sells to customer,
places PO to our China factory which then ships to USA warehouse for
disribution. Another scenario is that the USA factory places orders
for parts and sub assemblies for supplied by China factory.
Initially we will have China factory set up to use 8.0, with the
goal of having the other 2 companies access that server for their
own company's use of Vantage. In initial setup of the China factory
8.0, is there anything configuration-wise that needs to be taken
into consideration for eventual multi site usage so that inter
company transactions for PO's and SO's can happen without
duplicating data input?
Any users here that are connected to a China facility or planning
this? I'm wondering whether this is possible given the Firewall and
bandwidth issues that China connection presents? Our USA and HK
companies would have no more than 5 users each accessing the server.
