Hi Matt and Pat,
Thanks for the suggestion, but I tried it, and it doesn't work on the
plant floor login, according to Vantage support site this is by design.
The best thing I've come up with so far is to speak with the people (I'm
a pacifist, so no violence here), and I configured a periodic extract to
let me know when one pc has multiple plant floor logins. I then remote
in and kill the extra sessions.
Page 8915MPS
SUGGESTION: Unchecking 'Allow Multiple Sessions' should work in Plant
Floor.
I have that Plant Floor allows multiple logins, even if the user is set
to not allows multiple logins.
Steps to Duplicate:
1. In System Management->Security Maintenance->User, select a User.
2. Click the Security Tab and uncheck the Allow Multiple Sessions
button.
3. Edit the Plant Floor.vtg file and change the VantageLogin= line to
the username and password you modified.
4. Lauch Plant Floor.vtg.
5. Once Plant Floor is open, launch it again from the Plant Floor.vtg.
Per Development, this is by design. However, a change to allow this
would be transparent to users who did not activate it, but very useful
to users who do activate it.
Take care,
Steve

Matt,
That's how the help reads but obviously your finding other results.
Allow Multiple Sessions
Allow Multiple Sessions specifies whether or not the user can launch
multiple sessions of the system. If this user can, check this box.
Note: This field does not apply to security managers.
This option is activated only at session startup. A user must leave the
system and then re-enter for this change to take effect.

Pat, does that work with DC licenses? I have it unchecked with
different
logins and you can still fire it off multiple times?! (5.2)

If you use a different login at each station, Shop1, Shop2, etc... Under
security you can uncheck the checkbox for "allow multiple sessions".
