Multiple qtys for different Job assemblies

You could also "auto-receive" the widget job to stock and "backflush" them
to the "ABC" & "XYZ" jobs to eliminate the manual transactions. Warning!!!
do not "auto-receive" the widgets unless they are a standard cost part.

Amy:

That's precisely how I handle it. There's no law that says you must make a
make-to-stock (m-t-s) job and keep qty on the shelf.

I have found that its been awfully handy to have 1 or 2 of those repeaters
on
hand once in a while.

In either case, you only need one traveler for as many widgets as needed,
and
can still apply the cost to as many m-t-o jobs as necessary.

Here's my scenario. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Job TEST

(level one) Assy 1 - ABC assembly qty=1
(level two) Assy 2 - widget qty=2

(level one) Assy 3 - XYZ assembly qty=1
(level two) Assy 4 - widget qty=4

So in this case, I want to make six [6] widgets for this one Job, but I do
not want to track two different drawings and travellers, and post labor to
two different subassemblies, issue material twice, etc.

We currently make everything directly to the Job b/c we make custom
machinery where not many parts repeat. Now we're getting into more repeat
parts, so this is becoming an issue. But it's not nearly make to stock...

We're considering making a separate stock Job for these parts that repeat,
and just selecting these repeating parts in the original Job to be pulled
from stock. This will require an additional step to receive from mfg and
issue to the Job (all in Receipts to Mfg).

Anyone dealing with this? How do you handle it? Thank you.
