OH almost forgot.. XM radio has a cute pre-licensed version for businesses that is fairly reasonable.

Beware ASCAP is going to get you. They came down on us like a ton of bricks threatening many hundred thousand dollar fines for using radio for on-hold music. We ended up caving and paying about $350 a year for the "right" to re-broadcast (their term) licensed music. Do a web search on their strong arm tactics. They have flocks of people in various cities dialing businesses to find violators.
We got fed up with the extortion and now use a canned tape with a marketing message.

All,
My current phone systems music on hold consists of a FM radio with limited
antenna range and stations that drift in and out. I have rerouted the line
now to a PC and am looking for a good free streaming radio station, news
station, etc... Has anyone gone down this route? Any suggestions, comments,
etc... Keep in mind we are looking for something conservative.
