Line date are grey out and we want to change the date in the sale order. It has 32 releases first release open and other releases have closed.
When check in time phase inquiry. we want to push this MRP purpose before the change the dates.

I believe what you are seeing in regard to the Dates is by design since you have ‘closed’ Releases. Have you tried to update the Dates on your ‘open’ Release?
Is the “line” open?
The date on the line will be based on the Release date. If you have more than one release, and some have different dates, you cant change the date on the line anymore. you will need to manage the release dates.
Release dates are what drive MRP so thats what matters most anyways.
Yes line is open.
You mean to say, Can’t I modify these dates?
The system will let you edit the line dates when there’s only 1 release on it. If there are multiple releases, the line level dates become read only and will summarize the child releases by displaying the last dates.
None of the releases have a date.( I can see only Needby date and shiby date)
Of course they do.
Your picture above shows NeedBy → 12/6/2024, SkibidiShipBy → 11/29/2024
Purchasing asked us to push out an order for MRP purposes. Typically we just need to update the open line dates. I tried this, but they are grayed out
I can change the dates on the releases on line 1. However I do not want to, as they are showing at the correct dates.
I understand that, if there are multiple releases, the ship-by date on the line detail cannot be changed.
The bigger concern is that MRP is pulling dates that are not necessary. My order and its releases do not reflect the date shown by MRP.
MRP is indicating, “Order is currently at 10/23. Can this be moved to a more realistic date, as it’s affecting the MRP signal?”
Here are my order dates:
What do you mean when you say MRP indicates the ‘Order is currently at 10/23’? Are you referring to the associated Job?
Hi Bruce
The sales order has a ‘ship by’ status of 11/29, but the job is being created with a start date of 10/23. I suspect this is because the master data indicates that one person needs to start the job on 10/23 to complete all 219 remaining units by the 11/29 ship date. Since we typically don’t see jobs of this size, if my assumption about the start date is correct, I’m not sure we would take any action regarding this
