Need Help

Read the error. Its says you have no "-p" your command line has a "-P".
Progress is case sensitive.

-p is for program file
-P is for Password

Subject: [Vantage] Need Help

I have a problem with a shortcut on my desktop to run a small progress
program to upload names to the ship to file. It has worked fine for two
years. Today I have a large number of names to upload and you guessed it, it
does not work. The error I get is this You have not supplied a parameter for
argument -p (1403). The command in the shortcut is as follows:

V:\DLC\BIN\PROWIN32.EXE -DB DCDV7 -H FALCON1 -S VNTGSERV -P
V:\SHIPTO\LOADSHIP.R

If anybody can help me that would be great. Either reply on list or
call me direct 724-222-2600. I do not know of anything that I did to cause
this to happen. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

In the past we have discussed that many of us have "trouble" workstations
that seem to get errors more regularly than others. From what I have seen,
no-one has come up with anything conclusive as to why. On my main "trouble"
workstation today I got an error that I have yet to see. "Microsoft Visual
C++ Runtime Library-Runtime Error on program X:\progress\bin\prowin32.exe"
I have un-installed and reinstalled the client on this workstation on almost
a weekly basis and there is nothing special or different that this
workstation has that 20 or so other workstations have as well. Has anyone
seen this before? If so, what can I do?

My biggest difference with the others that have these errors is that
progress\vantage is being run on a Terminal Server. Sometimes Terminal
Servers have hardships with certain things, but I should be seeing problems
on all my workstations and not a select few. Its getting to be really
aggravating for me (and probably 100 times as much for the user) that 10-15
times a day they get kicked out of Vantage for no reason and have to log
back in. Sometimes the user will still show as a connected user to the
database and sometimes not. Sometimes it will also result in a _msprosrv
error on the server, sometimes not. I cant reproduce the error on command
but I can sure count on it happening multiple times a day. Anymore help or
discussion on this would be great. I would like to narrow down the
possibilities of why this happens so we can get epicor to 'fix' it.

Thanks
