I need some help…
I have a New PO Suggestion for a part that is an M part. It does show that it is a suggestion for a Sales Order. Is it coming up as a PO Suggestion because the order is checked even thought he part is a M part not a P?

Did you check the Site record for the part to make sure it is not marked as Purchased on that level?
Yes that was the first thing I checked. It is also marked M. PO Suggestion is checked but I didn’t think that would affect it if set to M.
I’m not positive of the hierarchy, but my guess would be that since the SO is marked as Buy to Order, that overrides any settings on the part. You are telling the system you are going to buy it so it is ignoring the fact it is set up as manufactured.
That was my logical thought too but I wasn’t sure how MRP looks at that.
What @jkane said is correct. the SO Supply boxes (Make direct or Buy direct) will override any part settings.
