New Vantage 8 install

Thanks for all the info, I have it working now. My databases were
running, but the appserver was not (I am not sure why it
doesn't/didn't start up automatically? I will work on that issue.)
After starting all processes in the appserver I was able to login to
the database.

Thanks again to all!

Happy Holidays!

Jack

Jack,

I had experienced a similar issue and I believe database conversions
needed to be run prior to normal login. In V8 you have a Vantage Admin
Tools option that should accept manager/manager and once logged in the
database conversions should initiate.

Jack,

It's been my experience that your error could be caused by a few
different issues:

1. As previously mentioned, database conversions need to be run
through the admin tools.
2. The Epicor folder on the server is not shared for everyone.
3. The App Server or the database is not running. Make sure they're
started in Progress Explorer.
4. The App Server is running on a different port than specified in
the config file for your database. The only way to check this is to
not the port for the App Server in Progress Explorer and then
compare it to the appropriate *.mfgsys file in the client\config
folder on the machine you are trying to log in from.

Hope this helps and I apologize if this info has already been
mentioned.

Regards,

Ron Cole
