I have done similar customizations, but not quite what you're talking about. My usual approach is to duplicate a system BAQ and try to tweak it, or write a new BAQ. I am a fan of dashboards, so I take a similar approach by trying to duplicate and tweak a system dashboard, otherwise I write my own. Sounds like you are on the right track though.

Ok, I think I'm still new to this with 90 days under my belt. I need to add a field to the Sales Order Tracker that shows the total number of parts that have been shipped since a certain cutoff/cume date. This number is needed to correctly complete ASN's. I have this number in a Crystal Report that I created for the shipping dept. but now I need to put it on the tracker.
The question is, where do I begin? Should this be a BPM or just a customization of the form. I have done a lot of customizing in the MES so I have a feel for that. I just wonder where to start?
Well, I am making progress. I have a customized screen to put the data
